Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before renting any vehicle from Handover. By booking a vehicle with us, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all the terms listed below. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with the booking.

1. Eligibility & Age Requirements

  • •Minimum age: 18 years for bike rental, 21 years for car rental.
  • •A valid Indian Driving License (DL) is mandatory for all rentals.
  • •The DL must be valid for the category of vehicle being rented.
  • •International Driving Permits (IDP) are accepted for foreign nationals.

2. Required Documents

  • •Original Valid Driving License (DL) — photocopy not accepted.
  • •Original Aadhaar Card or any government-issued photo ID.
  • •A selfie with the document may be required for verification.
  • •Documents must be presented at the time of vehicle handover.

3. Security Deposit

  • •A refundable security deposit is required: ₹2,000 for bikes, ₹3,000–₹5,000 for cars.
  • •The deposit is fully refundable upon return of the vehicle in original condition.
  • •Deductions may apply for damage, excess fuel usage, or traffic violations.
  • •Deposit must be paid in cash or UPI at the time of vehicle pickup.

4. Fuel Policy

  • •Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel.
  • •The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level.
  • •Fuel is NOT included in the rental price unless explicitly stated.
  • •If returned with less fuel, the difference will be deducted from the security deposit.

5. Usage Restrictions

  • •Vehicles must not be used for commercial purposes, racing, or illegal activities.
  • •Subletting or lending the vehicle to another person is strictly prohibited.
  • •The vehicle must not be taken outside Odisha without prior written approval.
  • •Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is grounds for immediate termination.

6. Insurance & Liability

  • •All vehicles are covered with comprehensive insurance.
  • •In case of an accident, the customer must immediately inform Handover and local police.
  • •Damage due to the driver's fault may attract a deductible of ₹5,000–₹20,000.
  • •Theft of the vehicle or accessories will be the customer's responsibility if negligent.

7. Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • •Cancellations made 24 hours before pickup: Full refund of advance (if any).
  • •Cancellations within 24 hours: 50% refund of advance payment.
  • •No-shows on the booking date: No refund applicable.
  • •Handover reserves the right to cancel bookings due to vehicle unavailability with full refund.

8. Rental Extension

  • •Rental extensions must be requested at least 2 hours before the scheduled return time.
  • •Extensions are subject to vehicle availability.
  • •Late returns without prior approval may attract penalty charges.
  • •Overstay charges: ₹200/hour for bikes, ₹500/hour for cars.

9. Damage & Accident Reporting

  • •Any damage, accident, or theft must be reported to Handover immediately.
  • •A police FIR (First Information Report) must be filed within 6 hours of any incident.
  • •Failure to report will make the customer fully liable for all damages.
  • •Handover must be allowed to inspect the vehicle after any incident.

10. Governing Law

  • •These terms are governed by the laws of Odisha, India.
  • •Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Bhubaneswar.
  • •Handover reserves the right to amend these terms at any time without prior notice.
  • •By booking with us, you agree to all the above terms and conditions.
